Meeting June 2, 2014

Chief Janowick’s appointment is part of a significant turnover at the Police Department resulting from multiple retirements.  Tim see’s this transition as an opportunity to adjust the department’s organization to better meet the current needs.  He said that more and more crime, and the resulting police work is internet related.  Despite this trend, however, having police out in the community remains the most effective crime deterrent.  He plans to continue the cooperation his department shares with local agencies and neighboring police departments, include Prospect Heights.
