Today we welcomed our three scholarship winners Kevin Morton, Daniel Niersbach, Alexandra Wilson and their families to our meeting.
We are proud of each of our scholarship winners and wish them the best of luck and success as they head off to college.

Kevin Morton is a graduate of Prospect High School and will attend Marquette University in the Fall.  He was skeptical about attending Marquette at first; he didn’t think he wanted to live in a city.  But after his visit where he was awed by the beauty of the campus and the friendliness of the people he met there, he changed his mind.  Kevin lettered in tennis in school and volunteered at a local hospital among other endeavors in high school.  His volunteer experience guided his decision to study physical therapy in college with an emphasis on working with children.

Alexandra Wilson is another Prospect High graduate.  She will be attending the University of Minnesota to study Spanish with a second, yet to be determined, major thrown into the mix.  Minnesota’s nationally recognized study abroad program was a major factor in Alex’s decision to attend.   Alex took her Spanish skills and experience as a summer camp counselor to the Dominican Republic this summer to help local children develop better safety and hygiene skills.  She is already planning on studying abroad in Nicaragua and possibly other Latin American countries!

Daniel Niersbach is the only Hersey High School graduate this year.  Dan, possibly realizing that he was outnumbered, stressed that he was no longer rivals with his Prospect counterparts – they’re all graduates now.  You could tell he was putting his experience from the debate and speech teams to work!  Dan will attend Indiana University in the Fall to study engineering.
